ANT 4 MailChecking is an e-mail checker that lets you know when you have new email messages. It's very easy to set up and use and even includes support for spam filtering. It allows you to set up as many separate accounts as you like and checks for new messages at a regular interval of your choosing. A tiny window (optionally always-on-top) remains on your desktop, displaying the number of messages waiting for you on your server. You can hide the window, if you prefer, in favor of audio notification. ANT 4 MailChecking also allows you to set up a variety of spam filtering rules, based on sender, subject, message size and date. You can preview mails, assign custom icons, and delete them directly from the server. You can even shutdown your PC by email.

Flystrike Spam Interrogator allows the user to test e-mail messages before fully downloading them from the POP server. A Score based on an Inventory of tests helps the user identify unsolicited messages for remote deletion. Messages containing abusive or illegal content can be relayed to the appropriate authorities with a set of automatically extracted headers. A number of pre-written (English, French, and Spanish) abuse reports are provided to help the user. If desired, each e-mail message can be viewed in original form or as a web document (for HTML). For the latter, pictures and hyperlinks are removed for the protection of the user. The user can trace the origin of messages; and ban them according to both MD5 Signature and URL pointers. The banning of these elements allows Flystrike to perform auto deletion of e-mail messages if required by the user. A log of deleted messages allows the user to discover any false positives. A threat list is available that allows the user to enter e-mails associated with particular worms or incorrigible nuisances; messages from those on the threat list are auto-deleted from the remote server before the conventional interrogation is performed. Once Flystrike is configured, the user can set it to perform automatic interrogation of messages on the remote server.

Open Sesame Spam Blocker is a Windows software program that deletes any email in your Outlook or Outlook Express Inbox folder unless it meets at least one the following criteria: 1) The email comes from someone in a "white list" of senders created by you 2) The email comes from someone whose email address is in your address book 3) The subject line contains one of the passwords selected by you If the email does not pass any of these criteria, it is deleted (moved to the deleted folder). When the email is deleted, Open Sesame Spam Blocker can send an email (if you wish) telling the sender that the email has been deleted. If you wish, this email will give them the password that they need to include in the subject line in order to have Open Sesame Spam Blocker not delete the email. While it may seem strange to automatically send everyone who sends you a password that enables them to bypass Open Sesame Spam Blocker, there is actually a very logical reason for this. Almost all spam is sent out in bulk by computer programs. These programs ignore any replies. In fact, the return address is usually totally phony, so they never even see the reply. SPAMReporter is a powerful award winning spam reporting tool that works by analyzing the email header information and determining where the email originated on the Internet. Many spam messages attempt to hide their tracks by forging entries into the header. SPAMReporter checks each line to determine its authenticity and signaling out the actual entry point onto the Internet. Once the entry point is found, SPAMReporter then finds an Abuse contact for the IP owner, and sends an email containing all the evidence and information, in the format they require to suspend or terminate the offending account. Stopping spam at the source, where it originates, is the only way to eliminate Spam. Filtering is a good idea, but not the answer to spam.
