PopMonger is a free but elegant tool to help you with mailing list management. This very small program is easy to set up with any POP3, IMAP, or Microsoft Exchange Server mailbox, and runs in the background. It can check multiple mailboxes and parses through messages, looking for delivery failures, subscribe requests, and unsubscribe requests. When PopMonger finds a matching message, it can add the sender's address to a list along with a date and a label indicating why the email was added for auditing purposes. You can optionally mark a message for deletion after processing, and leave unmatched email in your mailbox to check personally. As part of the free Mach5 Mailer suite, it can reply to the message with text from a file or redirect the message to another mailbox. With Mailer Gold, it can also parse the incoming email for fields you define, and provide complete information about the inbound message to your VBScript, JScript, or PHP program, giving you complete database integration with inbound email. SocketTools Scripting Edition consists of Component Object Model (COM) libraries designed primarily for use in scripting languages such as VBScript, JavaScript and PHP. While the interface to the Scripting Edition components is similar to the ActiveX controls in the Visual Edition, the internal design has significant differences. The Scripting Edition components do not have the inherent overhead of ActiveX controls and they implement a threading model that makes them much more efficient to use with Active Server Pages (ASP) and similar environments. Unlike other software development toolkits which may use complicated data structures or require a complex interdependency between objects, the SocketTools interface is designed to be simple to understand and use. For example, there are no language specific constructs like C unions in our Library Edition API. By focusing on providing a clean interface that only requires intrinsic data types and simple structures, SocketTools can be used in a wide variety of programming languages beyond just C and C++. Likewise, our Visual and Scripting Edition components implement a straight-forward interface that is designed to be compatible with virtually any language that can use COM objects.

The Internet Mail Client Control Library is a suite of ActiveX/COM objects providing SMTP (RFC 821), POP3 (RFC 1725) and MIME (RFC 1341) support for application developers. The library is suitable for use in Visual Basic, C++, Delphi and scripting languages such as ASP, VBScript/JScript and VBA. Support for SOCKS 4 and 5 proxies is built into the SMTP and POP3 objects together with support for standard SMTP and POP3 proxies. ESMTP authentication is supported in the SMTP object. The Message Object Model provides a simplified, but flexible, implementation of the MIME standard including support for multipart MIME messages and the standard encoding mechanisms. A COM interop assembly is included for .NET developers.
